8/26/2008: TNN Protects Pipeline Through Canada’s Jasper National Park
In 2007 and 2008, a 36” diameter Crude Oil pipeline was installed through the unforgiving Rocky Mountains. The ROW took the pipeline directly through an environmentally sensitive National Park. The pipeline owner and contractor employed all the latest technology and techniques to bury a large diameter pipeline through the pristine wilderness of Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada. Conditions were so severe on the 158Km pipeline, that cut Tuff-N-Nuff rockshield was used extensively. Custom size pads 119” x 72” were manufactured in St.Louis, Missouri and shipped directly to Alberta. An additional supply of Tuff-N-Nuff was staged at our distributor Proline Pipe Equipment in Edmonton. In some areas wooden “lagging” was used in to help protect the pipe and coating from the rocky conditions. This project is only Phase 1 of 4. The route for the rest of the pipeline takes it West, all the way to the Pacific coast. We look forward to participating with the Owner and Contractor on the remaining Phases of this project.
