Construction began on the 680 mile Ruby Pipeline on July 31st, 2010 in Opal, WY. The 42” pipeline owned by El Paso Corporation traverses through four states (WY, UT, NV & OR) and terminates in Malin, OR. Ruby is the first interstate pipeline to achieve carbon neutrality during construction and operation. Tuff-N-Nuff’s ability to produce custom sized rolls and pads allowed us to meet the unique demands of the project and eliminate waste at the same time. The majority of the project required 136” x 6 ft pads in both 3/8” and ¼” thicknesses. TNN was also able to supply standard 6’ wide x 30’ rolls in 3/8” and also 4’ wide x 34’ long custom rolls in ¼” thickness. Ruby Pipeline was placed into service on July 28, 2011. This project’s total estimated investment of $3.65 billion in new pipeline infrastructure, employed more than 5,100 construction workers over the entire length of pipe, and is designed to deliver up to 1.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day. Tuff-N-Nuff is responsible for the protection of over 45 miles of Ruby Pipeline. We would like to thank the contractors involved for their cooperation and our distributors for their diligent efforts on this successful endeavor.
